1. How many days we are allowed to conduct the events?
Hosting organization can conduct one event each day for maximum of four days.
2. Is there any focus for each day?
Thematic focus for each day is as follows:
Day 1 (September 14, 2009): Poverty Reduction and Hunger related to MDG1.
Day 2 (September 15, 2009): Environment Sustainability related to MDG7.
Day 3 (September 16, 2009): Women and Children related to MDG2, MDG3, MDG4, MDG5, and MDG6.
Day 4 (September 17, 2009): Global Partnership related to MDG8.
Day 5 (September 18, 2009): Closing Ceremony
3. What are the topics in which we can conduct events?
Please refer the brochure page 2 and 3 under each MDG.
4. Who has to invite the participants, if we wish to conduct events?
Event hosting organizations (you) are to be responsible for inviting participants. On demand, the Symposium secretariat can assist if the list of potential participants is sent to the secretariat.
5. Ideally what will be the size of participants for a seminar / workshop?
40-50 participants
6. Whether the symposium organization will bear the cost?
Symposium secretariat will provide only logistics and event coordination support. The respective host organizations (you) have to bear the cost of the day event.
7. What is the cost of conducting / hosting a seminar / workshop?
Cost of hosting a Seminar or Workshop with 50 participants is Rs.45, 000. click here to know more details
8. Whether the participants have to be drawn from only south India (or) other states?
Participation is from all over India.
9. Can we also have our exhibition during symposium? What is the cost?
Separate enclosures for exhibition being provided at the cost of Rs. 3000 for 10 days (September 12 – 21, 2009).
10. Can you assist us in fixing resource persons for the seminar/workshop on specific topics?
Yes.
11. Can you provide us support for documenting the proceedings of the event?
Yes, by a professional team.
12. How do you make publicity for symposium?
Through website, e-correspondence, advertisements in Radio, Television, Print Media and regular interactions with stakeholders.
13. Who are all the collaborators for the symposium?
Government institutions, NGOs, Corporates, Banks, Insurance Companies, Philanthropies, Academics and Community.
14. What is the reach of earlier symposium?

Can we conduct event on any themes other than the themes of your focus?
Any development themes can be very well related with MDGs, hence it is relevant.
16. What kind of logistics support can the symposium secretariat extend for participants and resource persons and at what cost?
On demand, lodging, boarding and local conveyance can be arranged at rates prevailing in Madurai.
